"I'm not interested in sex."

He flipped her over on her back on his bed and stared down at her with hot eyes, then lowered his head and kissed her throat.

"Sex only leads to trouble," she agreed, running her hands down his heavily muscled back and tugging his shirt off. He lifted her arms, letting her, and then loomed over her barechested.

"Sex just complicates every relationship," he explained, his mouth brushing kisses over her breast. "We're really better off if we don't go there."

"You're right." She shoved his jeans down over his hips. "The last thing we need is sex."

He kicked and squirmed, getting his jeans off. "I'm glad we agree about this," he said hoarsely, peeling off her shorts and then dropping down on top of her, nothing between them but his boxers and her panties.

"We always agree, sooner or later. It's what makes us such good friends."

"Yes. And such good friends don't need a physical... ahhh... relationship complicating everything."

"Of course not." Her hips moved against his hard. "We're better off the way things are. Lots and lots of hugs, but nothing else."

"Oh, God. I love hugging you, Chloe."

"And I love hugging you, Clark."

"I was thinking maybe we could hug a little better if we took the rest of our clothes off."

"You could be right." She pushed down his boxers, and he shoved at her panties with frantic haste. They flung the offending garments aside and fell back together on the bed. His hips flexed, and he slid right into her warm, wet body.

"Ohhhh," he groaned. "This is definitely a little better."

"It really is. Hug me, Clark. Hug me hard."

He withdrew, then drove into her fiercely, and she cried out beneath him. He cried out too, and then their bodies were out of their control, moving together in a hard, driving rhythm.

"Sex would definitely be the wrong choice for us," he whispered into her hair.

"Oh, yeah, totally, it would be. Hugging is so much better, anyway."

"Ohhhh... yeah, it really is... oh, God, Chlo, don't stop hugging me, don't ever stop..."

Her body spasmed around his and his erection jerked inside her, and then they were both sobbing, gasping, crying out. Their bodies shuddered in unison, and they clung to each other with frantic desperation.

Afterward, there was a long silence.

"We should hug like that more often," he said at last.

"Yes," she said. "We really should. It's not a complication when it's only a hug, after all."

"Right." He nodded seriously, his face still buried in her hair. "It's just the same thing we've been doing, after all. Hugging."

"No big deal."

"Right. Nothing to get stressed out or weird about."

"Exactly." She snuggled closer to his bare chest. "I'm glad we decided to keep things exactly the same between us, Clark."

"Yeah. Me too. Because the last thing we need is any sort of complications. Our friendship is the best thing in my life. I never want that to change."

"It won't."

"I'm glad, Chlo. I don't think I could live without your friendship."

"Me neither." She wiggled against him. "So just to be on the safe side, let's make sure we keep hugging each other, a whole lot."

"For the sake of our friendship," he said gravely, rolling her over again.

"For the sake of our friendship," she agreed. "Hugs are the absolute best way to keep a friendship strong, after all."

His arms tightened around her, and his body moved against hers, rubbing his erection against the slick warmth of her inner thigh.

"Let's hug some more, Chloe. Right now."

She wrapped her legs around his hips.

"Yes," she agreed. "Let's hug some more."
